Quote Desk vs Jobber

Jobber bills in US dollars and puts automated quote follow-ups on Connect at US$139 a month; Quote Desk chases quotes from A$39 but does no scheduling or invoicing.

Quote Desk is made by the Talk of the Trade team, so this comparison is our own. Every fact about another product links to that product's own page.

The short answer

Jobber is field service software with an Australian pricing page that bills in US dollars, and it does a great deal: quotes, scheduling, invoicing, online payments, a client hub and, on higher plans, two-way texting. Quote Desk is a quoting tool for one person. The comparison only makes sense on the part they share, which is getting a quote accepted and chasing it when the customer goes quiet. On Jobber, automated quote follow-ups start at the Connect plan, which is US$139 a month for one user on monthly billing. Quote Desk sends its follow-up emails from Starter at A$39 a month. Pick Jobber if you want to run the whole job in one system and are happy to pay in US dollars. Pick Quote Desk if you mainly need quotes sent, accepted and chased, and you invoice somewhere else.

What chasing quotes costs on each

Jobber Core includes sending quotes and invoices, but its automated quote and invoice follow-ups are listed on Connect. So a sole tradie who wants quotes chased without lifting a finger compares these two prices:

  • Jobber Connect, one user, monthly: US$139, about A$197.61 before any GST.
  • Quote Desk Starter: A$39, for up to 60 quotes a month.

That is roughly A$158 a month apart at October 2026's exchange rate, or about A$1,900 over a year. Jobber's extra money buys scheduling, invoicing, payment collection, a client hub and QuickBooks or Xero sync. If those are things you would otherwise pay for separately, the gap narrows. If your accounting software already handles the invoices, most of the gap is features you would not use.

Jobber's annual billing lowers the monthly figure. After the first year, Connect for one user is listed at US$99 a month billed annually, which is US$1,188 paid upfront, about A$1,689. Jobber's pricing page says the initial payment on an annual plan is non-refundable. Quote Desk has no annual plan and no prepayment; you pay monthly and can stop at the end of any month.

The exchange rate is part of the price

Because Jobber bills in US dollars, what you pay in Australian dollars moves with the exchange rate. US$139 is about A$197.61 at 0.7034. If the Australian dollar fell to 65 US cents, the same plan would cost about A$213.85 a month without Jobber changing anything. For a business that budgets monthly, that is worth knowing before you sign up for a 12-month commitment.

Quote Desk is billed in Australian dollars by card through Stripe, at A$39 or A$99, and the figure on your invoice is the figure on the pricing page.

How the follow-ups themselves differ

Jobber's pricing page lists automated quote follow-ups on Connect but does not spell out the timing or wording there, so we have not described them further.

Quote Desk's follow-ups are three short emails at 2, 5 and 10 days, counted from when you press Follow up automatically. Each carries the same accept link as the original quote. A press of Accept this quote or No thanks cancels whatever reminders are left. The wording and spacing are fixed; you cannot add a text message or a fourth email. The follow-ups page quotes the exact email.

Where Jobber is the better choice

  • You want one system for the whole job. Scheduling, invoicing, online payments and automatic payment collection, all from the quote the customer approved.
  • Your customers like a client hub. Jobber's client hub lets clients approve quotes online in one place. Quote Desk gives them one page per quote.
  • You text customers. Grow and Plus list two-way SMS, and Connect adds automated client reminders. Quote Desk sends no texts.
  • You use QuickBooks Online. Jobber syncs from Connect. Quote Desk has no accounting link at all.
  • You have a team. Connect for five users is US$199 a month, about A$282.91, and each person has their own login.
  • You want visual quotes and upsells. Grow lists rich-visual quotes and optional line items the customer can add. A Quote Desk quote is plain lines and a total, accepted or declined as a whole.

Questions people ask

Does Jobber charge GST in Australia?

Jobber's Australian pricing page lists prices in US dollars, excluding sales tax where applicable, and does not say how GST is treated. Ask Jobber before you subscribe. Quote Desk's prices carry no GST at all, since we are not registered for it.

Does Jobber sync with Xero?

Yes, on Connect and Grow. Jobber's help centre says the sync is one way, from Jobber into Xero, and covers clients, products and services, and invoices with their payments. MYOB is not mentioned in that article.

Is Jobber Core enough for quoting?

Core sends quotes and invoices for one user at US$49 a month. Automated quote follow-ups are listed from Connect, so on Core the chasing is yours to do.

Can I move from Jobber to Quote Desk?

There is no import. Type your common items into the price list, which has no limit on any plan, and send new quotes from there. Anything you need from Jobber stays in Jobber.

How we checked

Jobber's plans, prices, contract options and Xero details were read on its Australian pricing page and its help centre in October 2026, with US dollars converted at the Reserve Bank of Australia's rate for that month. Jobber was running an introductory discount at the time; we used its listed prices instead.

Free is five quotes a month, paid for by a marketing consent instead of a card. Past that, Starter is $39 a month. Either way the set-up is typing in your price list.
